I began working with metal in a blacksmith's shop at the age of 15 creating carpentry tools and small items of beauty.  After college, I re-engaged with metal work in my living room applying forging techniques to copper and brass.  After discovering that wearable metalwork can be sold, I began buying silver, building a tool set, and creating earrings.  Much of my work is heavily forged; deformed and detailed with hammer blows and other forms of focused force.  Through the accumulation of many hammer blows, the finished product is always unique.  Time spent operating an oyster seed nursery in Willapa Bay inspires some of my work.  Every oyster is unique and beautiful!
