Abducent Sea

My paintings are influenced by my observations and thought about my surroundings. They reflect how I listen to the world.

For me the ritual of daily drawing and writing unfolds interpretation and preparation for painting and explores an inner narrative.

I am inspired by the world around me and the environment that holds it together.

I appreciate the beauty in imperfection sometimes skewed by contemporary ideals.

I am interested in the isolation created by technology.

In the new paintings of the Abducent Sea I am seeking a sense of otherness, or perhaps a connection to a world fostered by place and history.  A lost world where I memorialize what I find and form a visual text anchored around a larger idea about the paradox of orientation in the natural world and how it is threaded into our daily lives.
