My recent works are a diary of the rivers, estuaries and mountains around the North West. After a traumatic brain injury in 2016 I lost my sense of time and the ability to visualize images; my paintings have become a story written in paint that are my memories of the wild places I visit. I start every painting with no pre-perceived conceptions; I can not carry past works in my mind and can’t visualize what a future painting might look like.

Every painting is new to me, no pallet or technique is off limits. I depend on photographs as a jump off point to start every painting; once a painting starts to form I work strictly on what is happening on the canvas.
