Betsy Bensen – jewelry maker

I think of myself primarily as a craftsperson, tool user, and fabricator working in precious metal. I like to see evidence of the maker on a piece of jewelry and I spend a lot of time creating texture using files, hammers, and sandpaper on the metal surfaces. I’m also drawn to non-precious stones and more often than not, will design around them. Pearls pop up often in many of my designs, which I tend to keep fairly simple.
